Boeing announced that they had chosen its North Charleston , S.C. , facility over Everette , WA as the location for a second final assembly site for the 787 Dreamliner program. The economic impact the new Boeing Plant will have on the Charleston tri-county area and South Carolina as a whole is enormous. The Boeing announcement is going to result in a paradigm shift for the Charleston economy. Not only are we talking about thousands of much needed jobs but there will be a trickle down economic effect that will help local businesses in every sector and create thousands of jobs for the Lowcountry.
